Pooches N Smooches Grooming Policies
In order to keep our shop running properly, please adhere to our policies to keep everything running smoothly for you and your pet.
Cancellations/ No Shows:
Please call or text at least 24 hours prior to your appointment to cancel or reschedule. No-shows /cancellations same day of appointment are subject to a $40 fee. If you do not pay fee we have the right to decline future services. Please be respectful of our time as we are appointment only.
Late Arrivals / Pick Up:
Please arrive on time for your pets appointment to ensure we have sufficient time for grooming and can remain on schedule for all our clients. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late to your appointment without any notice we may not be able to perform your scheduled grooming services and you may need to reschedule your appointment.
We will call or text you as soon as your pet is finished. We ask that you please pick up your pet in a timely manner. An additional fee will be added if you do not arrive in a timely manner. (This is due to being a cage free environment AND via appointment ONLY.)
Considerations:
We ask that you please do not feed your dog before grooming services to avoid accidents during the grooming process. In order to keep a sanitary environment we ask that you PLEASE walk your dog to relieve themselves prior to your appointment. A CLEAN UP FEE OF $5 MAY APPLY IF IT IS A REPETITIVE PROBLEM.
Aggressive Behavior and Bite Policy:
Pooches N Smooches does NOT accept aggressive pets or those that bite. Owners must inform Pooches N’ Smooches Salon if your dog may bite , have bitten, or is aggressive towards people, a specific grooming service or requires medication for grooming. Muzzles may be used if necessary. Muzzling will not harm your dog.
Pooches N Smooches reserves the right to refuse/ discontinue service at any time during the grooming process. If your dog becomes too stressed or becomes dangerous to groom we will stop grooming services immediately. Our main focus is to keep pets and groomers safe. Owners will be charged for a grooming fee at the groomers discretion.
Payments:
Payment is due at time of pickup. We accept cash, Venmo, or Zelle. If payment is not received same day of groom you will be texted / notified of unreceived payment. Pooches N Smooches has the right to refuse future services if payment is never received.
Senior Pets:
These grooms are often what we call comfort grooms, meaning they are out of the comfort of your pet, they may not be perfect. We will do our best to complete your senior pets grooming. Grooming can be stressful for senior pets, we work within your pets comfort level, if at any time your pet is not tolerating the groom we will stop and notify you.
Matted Dog:
Our policy on grooming is simple – HUMANITY OVER VANITY. A dog whose coat has become matted is a serious issue that interferes with a normal groom. Matting left untreated for an extended time causes discomfort for your dog and expensive vet bills. If Pooches N Smooches encounter matting in any significant quantity, we will call you and send photos of matted area. If you refuse shave down we will accept owners wishes and discontinue grooming service.
Pet Health Conditions:
Your dogs safety and comfort are our primary concerns. Please do not bring your pet to an appointment if they are ill, injured, or have become too feeble for the grooming process. If your dog shows signs of illness, has open wounds, or is currently injured, please call us to reschedule. For the safety of all pets in our care, we will turn away animals that are ill, injured, or geriatric.
Please advise us of any allergies, sensitivities, or pre-existing medical conditions so we can provide the best possible care. We also ask that you let us know of any past grooming experiences that were unsatisfactory so we can avoid repeating those situations.
